GENERAL ASSUMPTIONS OF THE EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS)

The European Credit Transfer System [ECTS] is a set of procedures prepared by the European Commission to ensure that studies at domestic and foreign institutions are recognised under the programme of a student's sending institution. The European Commission promotes the co-operation between institutions with regard to student exchange.

The European Credit Transfer System has been successfully implemented at many institutions in Poland and Western Europe. Its essential goal is to establish legal and organisational regulations on the organisation of studies in order students who want to study or continue their studies abroad could do that.
